Nikos Dedes is past chair of the ‘European AIDS Treatment Group’ (EATG), the leading European HIV activists’ network and past member of the Management Board of the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
He is also founder and chair of ‘Positive Voice’, the Greek Association of People Living with HIV and founder and vice-chair of ‘Prometheus’, the Hellenic Liver Patient Association and founder and Secretary on the board of directors of the ‘Greek Patient Association’.
Nikos participates on the Steering Committees of NEAT id (European HIV Clinical Trials Foundation), on the “HIV in Europe – Optimal Testing and Earlier Access to Care” and the “HIV Outcomes – Beyond Viral Suppression” initiatives. He is a member of the HIV Treatment Guidelines Panel of EACS (European AIDS Clinical Society) and co-chair of the HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis & TB Civil Society Forum, an advisory group to DG Sante.
Nikos advocates for universal access to evidence-based and cost-effective health and prevention services for all people as a moral imperative and pre-condition for a prosperous and fair society.
Dr Stanimir Hasurdjiev is one of the founders and current Chairperson of the Bulgarian National Patients’ Organization (NPO) — the biggest patients’ umbrella organisation in Bulgaria with more than 80 disease-specific member organisations representing patients with different socially significant diseases in all 28 regions of Bulgaria. Dr Hasurdjiev has devoted his work to the patients’ advocacy sector and in the defence of patients’ rights. In 2011, he represented the Bulgarian patients in the Supervisory Board of the National Health Insurance Fund.
Stanimir is a former board member of the European Patients’ Forum as well as a member of several regional and international organisations and networks, e.g. the World Hepatitis Alliance, European Community Advisory Board and International Capacity Building Alliance. He is one of the founders and current Secretary-General of the joint initiative of the European Patients’ Forum and the Bulgarian National Patients’ Organization — the Patient Access Partnership (PACT) — a multi-stakeholder platform for finding innovative solutions to reduce inequities in access to healthcare in Europe Since 2015 he also serves as Secretary of the initiative, “Health Partnership”, which was official permanent consultative body to the Council of Ministers.
Stanimir has received many Bulgarian and international awards, such as the Best Media Award for the World Hepatitis Day campaign in 2008.

Siniša Varga graduated at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Zagreb and then specialized in dental prosthetics at the Dental Clinic of the Clinical Hospital Center in Zagreb . He used to leads the Ambulatory for Surgical Prosthetics at Dubrava Hospital, the only center of its kind in the Republic of Croatia. He worked as a consultant of the World Bank on the Health Reform Project in the Republic of Croatia. In that period, he was also Assistant Director of Dubrava Clinical Hospital. Since 2004, hehas been responsible for organizing the module “Health Resource Management” at the Postgraduate Study “Leadership and Management of Health and Science” at the School of Public Health ” Andrija Štampar ” of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb.
Since 2008 he is a consultant on a project funded by the World Bank for Health System Reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a member of the Croatian Dental Society, the Croatian Medical Association, where he served as the Secretary General for two four-year terms. He is also a member of Croatian Society of Doctors of Homeland War Volunteers, Croatian Association of Quality Managers, as well as the Croatian Institute for Standards in two Technical Committees: Dentistry and Quality Management. He lectured and attended many international conferences; in Washington, Tampa, Montreal, Budapest, Prague, Vienna, Ljubljana, Brussels, Amsterdam, Groningen, Paris, London, Schengen, Mexico City, etc. He is the author of two chapters in university textbooks: Fundamentals of Dental Implantology and Dental Examination.
From 2002 to 2004 he was an official of the Government of the Republic of Croatia in the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare , as Assistant Minister of Health for Professional and Medical Affairs. In 2007, the Government of the Republic of Croatia appointed it as a working group to prepare for accession negotiations with the European Union. After being Director of the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance from April 2012 to June 2014, the Government of the Republic of Croatia appointed him as Minister of Health .

Medical doctor with almost 30 years of experience in healthcare and over 20 in health management at different levels of the Romanian healthcare system, starting from hospital level, as chief of department and medical director, then at county level – as Medical Director of the County Health Insurance House of Bacau, up to national level – as counsellor in Ministry of Health, but also as Health Outcomes & Pharmacoeconomics expert, Public Health Manager, Project Manager in the private sector.
Dr. Mardare has been involved in various projects, in different technical working groups at national and international level (shaping health legislation, health system reform, implementation of cross-border healthcare EU Directive, public policies elaboration, monitoring, implementation and evaluation, etc.) and she has over 10 years of fruitful experience in collaborating with patient associations.

Ruzica Gugulovska is a co-founder and managing partner at CheckPoint Cardio, with 18 years experience in international law and relationship,bussines and state protocol, and 16 years in education and training. She has Master degree in International Law and International Relationship from Sofia State University St Kliment Ohridski, Graduated for worldwide trainer of World-class business Etiquette and International Courtroom Etiquette at EtiquetteOutreach, NY(USA).
She has taken several high positions in governmental and nongovernmental state bodies,and also, taught and trained in university and state institutions. In private sector , as entrepreneur and investor from 2003.
